Target Audience
Anfeald’s Confined Space Entry Practice and Skill Assessment course, CON 303, is for learners involved with entry into permit-required confined spaces who have previously completed classroom training with Anfeald or others. Successful completion helps learners complete safe and compliant entry operations for most industries including construction, general industry, oil/gas, and others.
Summary
This course provides entrants, attendants, and entry supervisors with knowledge and skill development to help them safely take part in permit-required confined space entry activities. This is practical training and skill evaluation using the client’s equipment and an out-of-service confined space isolated from all hazardous energy and made safe to enter.
This is hands-on training only. It does not include a classroom session. By itself, it does not meet the minimum regulatory requirements for entry training. It is designed for learners who have previously completed classroom training (CON 302) with Anfeald or by others and who are already knowledgeable about confined space entry procedures, or need periodic requalification.
This course touches on basic non-entry rescue concepts, however, employers must provide rescue training appropriate for the hazards and in compliance with safety and health regulations.
Select this course if you or your learners have previously received classroom training and require an initial practice and evaluation session. You can also use this course as a periodic skill evaluation for previously trained employees.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will:
- Demonstrate how to properly set up and use their organization’s confined space entry equipment
- Demonstrate how to properly set up ventilation
- Demonstrate the proper use of a portable gas detector
- Recognize when an emergency occurs and demonstrate initial response actions
- Demonstrate how to complete an entry permit and complete a pre-entry briefing
Facility, Classroom, and Other Needs
Facility, classroom, and equipment needs:
- Display screen with HDMI input or screen and projector (let us know in advance if we need to bring a projector and screen)
- Comfortable seating, table space, and writing materials for each learner
- Uninterrupted time for each learner
- Out of service confined space that is isolated from all hazardous energy, locked, tagged, and safe to enter*
- Fully functional entry equipment appropriate for the entry type, with sufficient and appropriate equipment to allow non-entry rescue, recently inspected and in good repair*
- Positive-pressure ventilation equipment with appropriate ducting*
- Charged and calibrated gas detector*
