Target Audience
Anfeald’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) First Responder Operations course, HAZ 901, is for learners who are likely to discover a hazardous materials release, who must notify emergency responders, and who will take part in defensive operations only when not exposed to chemical hazards beyond what they are normally exposed to on a day-to-day basis.
Summary
This course prepares learners to identify a chemical release, notify company personnel, notify the authorities, keep others safe before additional help arrives, and perform defensive actions to help control the incident based upon employer-imposed limitations and limitations imposed by PPE. It includes information on risk assessment techniques and chemical “behavior” appropriate for the first response operations level.
It is compliant with the HAZWOPER regulation for hazardous materials release emergency response without regard to location under paragraph (q) of 29 CFR 1910.120 and 1926.65.
