Target Audience
Anfeald’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Hazardous Materials Technician Refresher course, HAZ 904, is for learners who are currently certified hazardous materials technicians and who require annual update training.
Summary
HAZMAT technicians have direct chemical hazard exposure, they wear chemical protective clothing, they use respiratory protection, and they use specialized techniques to mitigate and clean up emergency releases. This course prepares learners to decisively mitigate chemical releases on an emergency basis, without regard to location, and work as HAZMAT Technicians as part of a HAZMAT team.
This course flexes based on learner’s chemical exposures, client’s available respiratory protection, chemical protective clothing (CPC), and other equipment. Anfeald advises clients to purchase and make their respiratory protection, CPC, and other equipment available for class to maximize course effectiveness. Anfeald encourages clients to perform their own response drills and on-the-job training to extend the training and sustain knowledge and skills.
It is compliant with the HAZWOPER regulation for hazardous materials release emergency response without regard to location under paragraph (q) of 29 CFR 1910.120 and 1926.65.

- Comfortable seating, table space, and writing materials for each learner
- Sufficient space considering the anticipated headcount
- Display screen with HDMI input or screen and projector (let us know in advance if we need to bring a projector and screen)
- Chemical protective clothing and respiratory protection that learners will use during actual responses
- Decontamination equipment learners will use during actual responses
- Gas detectors learners normally use for emergency response
- Safety data sheets for common and high risk chemicals used at the client’s facility
