Target Audience
Anfeald’s Workers’ Compensation Management for Employers Representatives, SMS 705 is for learners assigned workers’ compensation case management responsibilities by their employer, including workplace safety and occupational health professionals who require detailed workers’ compensation management knowledge.
Summary
Preventing workplace injuries and illnesses is vital. However, when someone does get hurt, claims and return-to-work management become equally important. Active and careful claims management by employer-designated representatives is a critical component in controlling workers’ compensation loses and saving money, it helps injured workers get back to their normal jobs faster, and it increases employee satisfaction.
This course covers workers’ compensation premiums and experience modifiers, common policy provisions, direct loses, indirect/soft costs, best-practices for employer-side claims and return-to-work management, collaborating with the injured worker, working with frontline supervisors and managers, document control and retention, reducing claim volume and frequency, and related concepts.
It does not include injury and illness recordkeeping. See Anfeald’s Injury and Illness Recordkeeping course, SMS 703, if you are interested in this topic.
This course is variable length and ranges from 2.5 to 4-hours, depending on participating-learner’s needs. This course covers best practices, regardless of applicable state law; however, each state has its own workers’ compensation regulations, rules, and procedures. If you need help with specific procedures in your state, including setting up a workers’ compensation and return-to-work program, Anfeald can help. Get in touch and tell us your needs.
