Who Is It For

Anfeald’s Excavation Safety for Competent Persons class, TRE 501, is for personnel who work, or who intend to work, as excavation competent persons when assigned by their organization.

Class Description

The class includes underground utility locate requirements, common hazards, basic soil types and tests, benching, shoring and sloping techniques, regulatory requirements, traffic control, and other related competent person topics. Excavation safety expertise involves the working knowledge of many topics; preexisting knowledge of excavation techniques and safety issues is required for successful completion of this course. Only the employer may designate a competent person. This class is suitable as both initial training and an annual refresher.
