Who Is It For

TRE 501 is for individuals who intend to work as excavation competent persons when assigned by their organization.

Class Description

The class includes underground utility locate requirements, common hazards, basic soil types and tests, benching, shoring and sloping techniques, regulatory requirements, traffic control and other related topics. This course includes a written test for successful completion. Please note that excavation safety expertise involves the working knowledge of many topics; preexisting knowledge of excavation techniques and safety issues is required for successful completion of this course. Only the employer may designate a competent person.

Class Details

This class is suitable as both initial training and an annual refresher.
