HAZWOPER First-Responder Operational Initial and Refresher, 8-hours (HAZ 901)
Who Is It For
Anfeald’s Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) First Responder Operations class, HAZ 901, is for participants who likely to discover a hazardous materials release, who must notify emergency responders, who will participate in defensive operations, and who will not have exposure to chemical hazards.
Class Description
This course prepares participants to identify a chemical release, notify appropriate company personnel, notify the authorities, keep others safe before additional help arrives, and perform defensive actions to help control the incident. It applies whenever the employer stores and uses chemicals, when personnel may discover a release, and must perform defensive actions, but not offensive or cleanup. The class includes information on basic hazard and risk assessment techniques, how to select and use proper personal protective equipment provided to the first responder operational level, an understanding of basic hazardous materials terms, how to perform basic defensive control, containment and/or confinement operations, basic decontamination procedures, standard operating, and termination procedures.
